No excuses

This is all I'm saying after watching the Caps do a complete fold job in Game 7:
No one expected the Caps to even get out of the 1st round (let alone the 2nd). No one thought Braden Holtby was a NHL-caliber goaltender.
And no one thought we would be treated to 14...count 'em, 14...memorable games from this Caps team.
Now let's have Dale Hunter return as coach, so that we can "Unleash The Fury" yet again upon the rest of the NHL...

Here we go again...

Been awhile since I got around to writing a Caps blog...lol...so I'll make this quick.
6.6 lousy seconds from having Game 6 Wednesday night be the clinched for the Caps...and it got snatched away from us! Shit happens, I admit...but still the Rangers were outlawed last night.
Que sera, sera...
But, once again, the racist tweets towards Joel Ward have begun anew...from Caps fans this time. Which prompts me to do this PSA:
Go to http://dcsportsnut.wordpress.com, and look for "(Social) media, sports and hypocrisy". It's a piece I wrote after the Boston series.
Read it, and then spread the word...

Deep breaths, everybody

Now that we've all had 8+ hours to decompose from Joel Ward's series-ending goal, putting the Caps into the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs...I can get around to a few observations on the night (and series).
For starters, let me point out to Boston sports fans that anything we Caps fans said/did on Twitter wasn't personal. We have more respect for you than we do for Penguins/Cowboys/Philly sports fans.
Having said that, it makes this next statement all the more repellent.
For a vocal minority of so-called Bruins "fans" to use "nigger" (on Twitter) in describing Joel Ward...simply reinforces the stereotypical image of South Bostonites as racists and/or bigots.
Truth be told, I've sat in FedEx Field (back when my brother had Redskins season tickets) and watched Skins fans drop bombs at opposing teams' fans. So you can't claim the moral high ground when it's your own fan base behaving like assholes.
I realize not all Boston fans are like these shitholes last night. This series was exhausting for everyone, let me tell you. But...
Since I have to be at Fenway Park on the 8th of June (to cheer on the Nationals), you'll forgive me if I have a slight fear for my life after last night.
Try to understand why...

Load of shit, part 2

Short one.
Braden Holtby, how the fuck dare you allow yourself to wander out of position in overtime to leave an open net?
Because of your stupidity (and yours alone), the Caps now have to go to Boston on Wednesday night to play Game 7.
That's all I have to say.

Load of shit, is what it is

For the NHL to suspend Nicklas Backstrom for Thursday night...simply because he chose to defend Ovie after the final whistle Monday night...shows once again that the league office is waging a vendetta against the Caps.
This is only my opinion, mind you, but I'm sure you'll find other Caps fans might share my view...
At any rate, the game Thursday is gonna be interesting.

Saturday, April 14, 2012

And we're tied up...

Wonderful to see Nicklas Backstrom get the game winner today...and see that Obama-hating douchebag Tim Thomas make a mad dash for the locker room like the fussy he is.
This asshole is to hockey what Kyle Busch is to NASCAR, to tell you the truth...a whiny turdburglar.
Anyway, back to the game. Braden Holtby once again played out of his head, but this time he kept his head in the game. (And rewarded for it.)
Now it's on to the Verizon Center on Monday night. Ladies and gentlemen, the fury WILL be unleashed!!

Thursday, April 12, 2012

Oh, shit...

I spend the whole fricking night tweeting on the Caps game, as Braden Holtby played so out of his head...and, wouldn't you know it?
He lets a fricking blue line shot get past him in OT!!
Well, good thing I said up front this was going 7 games...lol
Now if I can just get somebody to follow this blog for the duration of the playoffs (and beyond...lol), I'd be a happy man. God, I hate begging...LMAO

Our season, shot to hell

When it mattered most, what did the Caps do tonight against the Sabres?
One word: C-H-O-K-E!!
5-1 your final.
That's all I'm saying tonight. I'm disgusted. Bring on baseball...

Bandwagons: WHO the fuck needs 'em?

Normally, I wouldn't address anything like this...but after having spent the bulk of this night on Twitter, I have to.
Okay, so the Caps fucked up tonight against the Blackhawks (your final, 5-2 Chicago). It's a disturbing pattern, I admit. But what's even more disturbing is watching Caps fans (on Twitter) backbite one another.
And coming after ME...just because I dared to point out that the "old-school" white jerseys represent tradition...does not work for you!!
I have backed this franchise SINCE IT'S EXISTENCE, people!! That gives me the right to say what I want about the pathetic effort being showcased night after night by this Caps "team".
(Take a good hard look at the picture below. They could probably do better than what I'm seeing out of the Caps right now.)
There. I've vented enough for one night...

Strange night in Hershey

Almost 2 a.m. Sunday morning as I'm writing this. Got back 20 minutes ago from Hershey, where I saw the Bears eke out a 3-2 win (2-1 shootout).
Refereeing? Fucking atrocious--and that's being lenient. Tripping calls (Bears players being tripped, that is) right in front of me, and the ref not even looking at the play!!
Sloppy play on the Bears' part, but...it's still a win nonetheless.
(The picture, btw, is of the mascot Coco. I snapped it during the 2nd intermission.)

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

We're toast. Let's face REALITY, gang.

Let me see if I have this right. The Caps take a 2-0 lead on Carolina, give up 3 unanswered goals, come back in the 3rd period to tie it up...
And Mike Green can't get his stick up to deflect a 2-on-1 break??
I hate to break this to my fellow Caps fans, but...any shot we have at making the Stanley Cup playoffs went bye-bye tonight.

Friday, February 24, 2012

At last, a win!!

FINALLY, the Caps remember how to win a game. Basically after the 2nd period this game was decided.
Now to keep this up come tomorrow night...

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

All right, ENOUGH'S enough!!

If the Caps are gonna mail it in the rest of the season, I have one favor to ask:
Just put Braden Holtby in goal the rest of the way, all right?? I gotta have some reason to use this picture...lol

DOUBLE my pleasure?

For some reason, these blog entries are showing up twice.
Oh well, at least this picture won't be duplicated...LMAO
